Blog Design Guy was founded in May 2011 as a full-on operation to eradicate eye-raping ugliness from the blogosphere while teaching bloggers how to leverage their blog design to reach their target audience, improve conversion rates and provide a better experience for their readers.
If content is king, blog design is the monarchy.
Your blog’s design is the underlying framework that sets your content up to dominate and spread virally. It’s the very first impression you’ll make on your visitors, so it needs to communicate your brand, who you are, what you’re about and facilitate the kinds of actions and engagement you need to grow! The problem is, not every blogger has the design sensibility or technical know-how to make that happen.
That’s why Blog Design Guy exists. Every blogger is a designer, they just don’t know it!

I’m J. D. Bentley and I help bloggers earn a living by designing and supporting their blogs. I founded Blog Design Guy because I’m passionate about the publishing process: planning, design, content creation, promotion. I’ve been designing websites in one capacity or another for over 10 years, but I got especially serious in 2007 when I began learning about the WordPress blogging platform.
Outside of the design/tech world, I have many varied interests, including the Eastern Orthodox Church, Folk and Bluegrass music, writing, bookbinding and on and on. I write about many of those topics on my personal blog.
